Frequently Asked Questions
This page contains a list of common questions about MassMirror and/or the service we provide.
What Is File Hosting?
File hosting is a service where a remote computer serves a file to a single or mulitple computers requesting the file. MassMirror is a free unlimited file host. Meaning that you may host any file content you own rights to legally with an unlimited number of people. If you wish to keep your file private simply don't share the link with anyone and you can use MassMirror to archive your files. Please be aware that your file is in the hands of the file host massmirror sends your file to and they may delete your file for inactivity.
This Site Does What?
MassMirror.com uploads your file to many external free hosting providers. In a way this site archives your file on other free hosts for your personal, educational, business, or professional use. Do not upload material which is copyrighted.
How Do I Upload A File?
Go to massmirror.com (opens in a new window). and click the Browse button near the middle of the page. A file dialog box will appear on your screen. Select a file you want to upload. Then click the Upload button and wait for your file to finish uploading. That's it, the rest is done for you. Remember to save your secret delete link, it will only appear once.
How Long Will My File Remain Online?
As long as someone visits every 30 days your upload will remain on our servers. If you do not visit within 30 days, your file will be removed from massmirror.com. You may also delete your own uploads by saving the delete link given to you after you upload a file. If your file does not violate any laws and at least one person views it a month then, your file will remain online.
My File Gets Renamed, Why Is That?
In order for us to be able to upload your file to multiple free hosts on the web the file must be renamed to a standard name convention. We have to do this so your file can be uploaded to other free file hosting providers. Majority of the files you upload are in the proper naming convention, you will be alerted if your file name is invalid.
Where Is The Download Link?
Download links appear in blue near the middle of every file download page. They will be beside text associated with the download link.
My Download Links Don't Work.
Make sure massmirror does not say file not found on your file url link. Also be sure that you are not using a download link url to link to any files, doing so means your download will break anytime someone clicks Re-Upload. It breaks because massmirror manages the uploads on the remote server for you. Any and every time someone click Re-Upload your link will be removed from our database and replaced with a new one, however we do keep download counts. Only link to the url provided by massmirror.com to retain service accuracy.
My Upload Failed!
Make sure your browser options enable javascript. In all cases where an upload fails without seeing a progress bar please be sure you are using one of our Supported Browsers and you have javascript enabled.
